Dear Curves staff,
I just wanted to write and tell you how much Curves has meant to me in the time since I’ve been coming here. I joined last October, after having my second child and really struggling to find the time to exercise and the ability to lose the baby weight. Let me tell you, I have succeeded on both fronts.
I love the fact that in under an hour, 3 early mornings a week, I can leave and return home having had a great workout and stretched. Sometimes I may not get to shower for a few hours once I get home, but I still feel great for having worked out; it always gives me a big energy boost J. This is one of the few exercise programs I have stuck to week after week and not gotten bored. I LOVE the Curves Smart System. It really helps keep me motivated to “Go For Green”. In fact, I have recently discovered that by putting more effort into my workout, I can really improve my PI target, and then surpass it. Just last week, I really pushed it and bumped my PI target up 26 points!!! This is instant feedback that what I put into it is what I get out of it. The way I see it, the harder I work each time, the easier the inches and pounds are going to come off.
Speaking of inches and pounds, as I sit here writing this, I am 18.5 inches and 18 pounds smaller than when I started in October. I have to say, it’s those inches that have really kept me motivated to keep going. Some months I have only lost ½ a pound, but at the same time, have lost 3 inches. That is definite proof to me that I am converting that baby weight (aka fat) into muscle. I am back into all my pre-pregnancy clothes, and 2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. Not only that, but I am noticing muscle definition in my arms and legs I haven’t seen in a LONG time.
In the last couple of months, the weight loss slowed way down, so I began the Weight Management program. I have done other weight loss programs, but always put the weight back on because it really is not a realistic way to eat for the rest of your life. Who wants to count points everyday forever anyways? Not me!! Since starting the Weight management program, I have lost about 5 pounds – finally broken the 170 barrier that was haunting me – and can totally see myself eating this way for the rest of my life. Running after 2 kids, I really appreciate the planned snacks, because I really need them, and the high protein diet that keeps my energy levels up all day. This program has also really taught me that while I was eating healthily, I was overeating, and this has really helped me bring my portions under control.
On top of all this, I always arrive to see you fantastic people with a smile on your face and an ear willing to listen when I need it.
